CONTINUING EDUCATION FOR COURSE INSTRUCTORS

Opportunities for Professional Development

Course instructors have various options available to them for obtaining certification in their field:

• Information on qualification and continuing education opportunities in specific sports can be obtained from the respective sports coordinators or through the state associations.
• Every winter semester, the Educational Department of the Saxony State Sports Federation (Landessportbund Sachsen e.V.), in collaboration with the Saxony State Conference on College Sports (Landeskonferenz Hochschulsport Sachsen e.V., LHS), offers a multi-sport “Basic Training Course for College Sports Instructors.” This course is particularly suitable for new instructors or those without a license in all student sports programs. Topics include the basics of training theory, sports biology, and structuring a training session.

Courses, continuing education programs, etc., will be financially supported at 50%, up to a maximum of 300 euros per year, subject to agreement with the DHSZ sport coordinator. It is essential that the training further qualifies the course instructor in the sport in which he or she is active at the DHSZ.

To claim reimbursement for continuing education, please complete the document “Instructor Training – Reimbursement” ( ) as well as the “Reimbursement of Expenses” form and submit them together with

• Call for Applications
• Confirmation of Participation (copy) and
• proof of payment ( invoice or original receipt with stamp and signature) or a copy of the bank statement

to the sports program coordinatorno later than 20 days after the continuing education session takes place.

Additional Options

All active course instructors may take one course per semester free of charge for continuing education purposes. Further details are provided in the document.
