Since October 2013 the Research Training Group “Hydrogel-based Microsystems” (RTG 1865) is funded by the Germany Research Foundation (DFG) and is with its interdisciplinary research program, including microsystems, structure- and fluid mechanics as well as chemical aspects, very diverse.

Currently the 2^nd generation of colloquies are researching on stimuli-responsive hydrogels, ranging from synthesis with specific material properties up to applications in micro-fluidics and sensors. Looking back over 30 Journal articles have been published and currently 13 colleagues and 5 associates from the field of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and chemistry are funded.
