IDEA STUDIO "Raw Materials and Materials in the Circular Economy" at TU Dresden
A functioning circular economy conserves resources, reduces waste, and makes a significant contribution to climate protection. Establishing such an economy requires not only innovative technological approaches but also a holistic consideration of societal acceptance and economic feasibility.
Organized with the support of the Project Scouts at TU Dresden, the IDEA STUDIO "Raw Materials and Materials in the Circular Economy" took place on December 13, 2024, in the Festsaal of TU Dresden. The goal was to promote interdisciplinary networking and take a comprehensive look at research questions related to the circular economy.
Led by Professor Modler, researchers from various disciplines engaged in intensive discussions. Topics at the thematic tables included the development of efficiently recyclable materials, the optimization of production processes to ensure closed material cycles, and the use of digital technologies to track resource flows.
The lively discussions underscored the importance of economic and societal incentives in advancing the acceptance and integration of circular economy models. At the same time, the tremendous research potential of this field at TU Dresden became evident.
The IDEA STUDIO was an important step toward further strengthening TU Dresden’s profile as a leading institution in the field of the circular economy and exploring future research and collaboration opportunities.
