NETWORK STUDIO “eHealth” – Inspiration for new projects and interdisciplinary networking
On September 30, 2025, the NETWORK STUDIO on the topic of “eHealth” took place in the Gerhart Potthoff Building at TU Dresden. From 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., scientists from various fields, such as medicine, computer science, and other related disciplines, came together. The aim of the event was to facilitate networking among the participants and to provide information about current funding opportunities within the framework of the new “Future eHealth” announcement by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMFTR).
After a welcome by the organizers from the Project Scouts team and the Research Funding team of the Faculty of Medicine, the focus was on collegial exchange: participants presented their research in short pitches and made suggestions for potential funding applications. Particular attention was paid to interdisciplinary networking between the various disciplines. The scientists in attendance took the opportunity to specify ideas for collaborative project proposals and to network with potential partners in a targeted manner.
The event is based on the current BMFTR funding guideline “Future eHealth.” It supports interdisciplinary junior research groups that want to work together to develop innovative digital methods for health research. The focus is on data-driven research approaches, artificial intelligence, in silico modeling, and the use of already available biomedical data. The funding is aimed in particular at postdocs from mathematical and computer science subjects and the life sciences who want to cooperate across locations. The aim is to further expand scientific excellence in the field of eHealth in Germany and to launch innovative projects.
Interested parties can submit project outlines until December 15, 2025.
The NETWORK STUDIO “eHealth” has impressively demonstrated how important personal exchange and early networking are for the development of new research approaches and successful project proposals.
