The new Horizon 2020 work programmes 2016/2017 will be published soon. The EPC organises a series of events called "HORIZON 2020 - Find your call in 2016/2017" with dates on 27 and 29 October 2015 as well as 03 November 2015.

In early July 2015, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) has been officially accepted as a German partner in the Joint Programming Initiative Urban Europe. The JPI Urban Europe was set up in 2010 to strengthen European research and innovation in the field of urban development.

The second Call for Proposals for Cooperation Projects within the Creative Europe programme – sub-programme ‘Culture’ has been launched. The next deadline for submission of proposals is October 07, 2015.

On June 11, 2015 the Cooperation programme Saxony - Czech Republic 2014-2020 has been approved by the European Commission. The submission of proposals is possible from July 31, 2015.

Inducement Prize Contests are a new instrument introduced under Horizon 2020. They offer a reward for the completion of a set technological challenge that has not yet been achieved so far.

The European Commission has launched a Pilot “OpenAIRE2020” to fund Open Access publications for finalized FP7-funded projects through OpenAIRE.

The Conference of European Schools for Advanced Engineering Education and Research (CESAER) -TU Dresden is also its member- has renewed its commitment with respect to the European Research Area, signing the new “Joint Statement on ERA”.

In May 2015, Technische Universität (TU) Dresden has obtained the institutional membership of the European Association of Research Managers (EARMA).
