STUDIO formats
The STUDIO formats are a specific offer of TU Dresden's Project Scouts, with which we can assist you in the initial and preparatory phase, but also as early as in the idea and exploratory phase for larger third-party funded projects.
Depending on the progress of the preparation of the project, the Project Scouts offer three different event formats that cover different needs and pursue different goals: IDEA STUDIO, NETWORK STUDIO and FUTURE STUDIO.
The STUDIO formats are planned in a tailor-made way for your project or topic. We will be happy to advise and assist you from the choice of a suitable location to the question of whether the event can also be held online. We will work with you to develop a concept for the event, assist you in the search for suitable participants and shoulder the responsibility for the organisation of the event.
You can find examples and information on events that have already taken place in our calendar of events section.
- Target group: Researchers, persons from industry, administration, politics & society
- Goal: Developing and focusing ideas, decision making on funding formats, work and schedule preparation, brainstorming
- Duration: 3 h to one day
The IDEA STUDIO format is suitable for exploring projects in the context of current thematic fields for which funding opportunities already exist or are in the process of being set up. The events are intended to provide insights into the respective topic, but also to open up networking opportunities, addressing ideas and putting forward approaches for discussion. We would like to help you to draw the attention of the academic community to a topic. In addition, these events should also serve to explore networking opportunities both intramurally and extramurally. If necessary, these events may also provide opportunities to discuss your ideas with representatives of funding agencies or project sponsors.
As part of the NETWORK STUDIOs, the exchange with outstanding researchers from other institutions is to be accompanied and fostered. The main goal is to win over outstanding researchers in the context of larger scientific events taking place at TU Dresden for further networking and exchange meetings on specific topics or concerning specific projects in which these persons are to participate.

Target group: New and first-time professors
- Goal: Medium and long-term research planning, development of an TUD-internal network for new (joint) research projects
- Duration: 3 - 4 h
Predictions are difficult, especially when they concern the future!? In the FUTURE STUDIO, participants take a look beyond the boundaries of their own research field and discuss future research trends and tendencies in there and related disciplines. Together, they develop future scenarios, identify emerging research trends, and identify topics for the day after tomorrow. The exchange of ideas is intended to provide exciting insights and perspectives for your medium- and long-term research planning. At the same time, a network for the strategic planning of new (joint) research projects is formed.
Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or suggestions regarding the formats presented here or beyond.
