Minister of State Regina Kraushaar and her advisory board visit TUD|excite
Advisory board of the simul+ InnovationHub
Last Tuesday, we welcomed the advisory board of the simul+InnovationHub of the Saxon State Ministry for Infrastructure and Regional Development (SMIL) to TUD|excite. The visit provided a valuable opportunity to discuss innovative approaches to regional development and the role of science, politics and business in shaping sustainable regions.
simul⁺ is a network and platform with the mission statement of innovation-based regional development. SMIL works together with regional partners to initiate and promote future-oriented projects. The aim is to develop smart cities and regions. The term smartness encompasses not only technological and economic aspects, but also ecological and social dimensions.
As part of the session, Prof. Andreas Pinkwart first presented the TUD|excite and then gave a keynote speech on the topic of "Turning knowledge into impact - how does the transfer of innovation succeed?". It became clear that successful innovation goes far beyond research: the decisive factor is how knowledge can be transferred into concrete applications, collaborations and new business models.
A central component of the TUD|excite vision is to strengthen networking and visibility. This is achieved through the TUD|excite Innovation Hub and a broad-based research and start-up ecosystem. It is particularly noteworthy that strategic collaborations have been established with many partners without the need for financial resources - a unique model in Dresden and the region that can also serve as an inspiring example for simul⁺ and other Saxon regions.
In addition to this topic, numerous other points of contact were discussed in which politics, science and companies can benefit from and strengthen each other. The exchange impressively demonstrated the importance of strong networks and open collaboration in order to put innovations into practice and drive sustainable regional development.
We would like to thank the simul⁺ advisory board for their visit and look forward to further exchanges.
