World Intellectual Property Day 2018
The portfolio of property rights currently comprises some 1,400 active property rights. Protected research results from scientific and technical fields are ready to give users an innovative advantage in the competition for cutting-edge technologies. They also open up new fields of research and application.
In the TU Dresden Transfer Office, trained patent engineers provide advice on the protectability and scope of protection of inventions. They also file national and international patent applications as required. Our Patent Information Centre carries out searches, for example on the latest technological developments. This is done by experienced researchers using commercial databases.
In cooperation with the inventors, individual utilisation strategies are developed and the potential applications of the technologies are determined. The Transfer Office handles the drafting and negotiation of utilisation agreements with companies in terms of licensing and patent sales. Legal, business and engineering expertise is at your disposal for this purpose.
"Intellectual property rights in China – a challenge for companies". The Patent Information Centre Dresden invites you to an information event on this topic on 24th April 2018. In 2016, more than 1.3 million patents (42.8 percent of all patents applied for worldwide) and more than 1.5 million utility models (95 percent of all utility models applied for worldwide) were registered in China. These astounding figures have dramatic effects on the quality and duration of the assessment procedures.
Prospective attendees are asked to register by 20th April 2018.
Intellectual Property Day was first launched in 2000 by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
