Do you have questions about the doctorate, financing your PhD, or do you need help with your first grant application? A lot of service facilities at TU Dresden offer advice and information related to the PhD and the Postdoc phase across all disciplines.
Generally, a doctorate can be obtained in all disciplines of the TU Dresden. Details are stipulated in the faculies‘ doctoral regulations. For further questions please contact the Doctoral Office/Examination Office of the faculty.
The Graduate Academy is a central service location for all questions around the PhD and beyond. All doctoral candidates and their supervisors as well as all postdocs at TU Dresden can apply for membership at the Graduate Academy.
We offer:
- a qualification program specifically designed for young scientists
- individual advice and information before, during and after the PhD
- own funding programs, e.g. travel awards for conferences or research stays abroad
- events providing the opportunity for interdisciplinary exchange and networking.
The International Office provides advice to prospective doctoral candidates holding a foreign university degree concerning formal requirements for their registration as a doctoral candidate. Once internationals have been accepted as a doctoral candidate by their faculty, they can enrol as PhD students via the International Office.
The Welcome Center staff will be glad to assist international visiting researchers and PhD students staying for more than three months before and after your arrival to Dresden to facilitate your acclimatisation. We counsel and inform on immigration regulations, insurances and other formalities, help you to find an apartment and a kindergarten/school for your children, provide other information and access to the international networks in Dresden.
