Do you have questions about the doctorate, financing your PhD, or do you need help with your first grant application? A lot of service facilities at TU Dresden offer advice and information related to the PhD and the Postdoc phase across all disciplines.
At TU Dresden, the respective faculty alone decides on the selection and admission of doctoral students. Therefore, please contact the Dean's Office or the Doctoral Examinations Office of the faculty where you are doing your doctorate.

The Graduate Academy is the central contact and service point for doctoral candidates, postdocs and supervisors at TU Dresden.
- a qualification program specially designed for early-career researchers,
- individual advice before, during and after the doctorate,
- information on funding programs for doctoral candidates and postdocs
- regular events with the opportunity for interdisciplinary exchange and networking.
The International Office provides advice to prospective doctoral candidates holding a foreign university degree on the formal requirements for their registration as doctoral candidates. Once internationals have been accepted as doctoral candidates by their faculty, they can enrol as students via the International Office.
The Welcome Center staff will be glad to assist international visiting researchers and PhD students staying for more than three months before and after your arrival to Dresden to facilitate your acclimatisation. We counsel and inform on immigration regulations, insurances and other formalities, help you to find an apartment and a kindergarten/school for your children, provide other information and access to the international networks in Dresden.
