Science management is an interdisciplinary field that deals with the administration and management of scientific institutions such as colleges and universities.
It comprises a variety of tasks that include both administrative and scientific components and is a response to the increasing complexity
and national and international competition in the science system.
Science managers act as an interface between administration and science and take on complex tasks such as the management of scientific projects, the tendering and design of funding programs, the monitoring and evaluation of university didactics, quality management, the acquisition of third-party funding, knowledge transfer, the organization of events and conferences as well as gender equality work.
