There is a lot of insecurity about the way to professorship in Germany. In this workshop we will talk about the main aspects of science careers: • Selections of new professors are somehow special and difficult ways of recruitment: • What is the difference between Juniorprofessor, Tenure-professor and W2/W3-Professor in the German system and when am I allowed to apply for them? • What is a scientific profile and how could I develop my profile? • Market analysis: how could I find out how many open positions there will be in the time I need them? • Check list: what is really necessary to gain before I am able to apply, what did I gain already and what are my next steps? • Next steps: science careers look different. It makes sense to ask for your specific strengths in research and to develop your career based on these strengths. The next day a single or small group coaching will give participants the opportunity to talk about specific questions concerning their own situation. Please bring with you an internet enabled device (smartphone, laptop etc.) |
