Patricia Kühfuss as a guest at the Chair of Health and Nursing / Vocational Didactics
On 13.06.23 we had the pleasure of welcoming Patricia Kühfuss for a lecture and workshop at the TU Dresden!
In her lecture, she emphasized the need for new visual narratives in photography that focus on the specific qualities of everyday care work. She criticized the current photographic coverage, which often only focuses on decisive moments and thus overlooks or fails to highlight important aspects of everyday nursing care.
In the subsequent workshop, there was also the opportunity to explore different approaches to image work in nursing lessons together with Patricia. Starting with the creation of associative maps in relation to photographs, through to the interpretation of a picture narrative: the central concern was to discuss possible learning and educational opportunities with pictures for nursing education.
The day was extremely inspiring and offered valuable insights as well as practical methods for the further development of image work in nursing. A joint publication on the topics and approaches discussed is already being planned.
