Wood workshop
The wood workshop is a place of teaching and learning where theory and practice are combined. The focus of the workshop concept is on practicing manual skills.
The wood workshop thus offers students the opportunity to discover their skills with tools and materials in a protected space and to acquire, develop and optimize practical skills on this basis.
The workshop is equipped with professional machines and hand tools that enable prospective teachers to acquire and consolidate the higher-level knowledge they need. High-quality technical equipment is also available for practicing future work/teaching preparation activities:
- measuring
- cutting
- joining
- forming
- coating
In seminars, exercises and specially created "open workshop" times, students can familiarize themselves with this equipment - depending on their level of instruction and previous knowledge - and use it for their student projects.
Teaching kitchen
Since the 2018/19 winter semester, students studying Teacher Training - Middle Schools and the vocational Department of Food, Nutrition and Home Economics have had optimal conditions to acquire and deepen their basic knowledge and practical skills in the field of nutrition and consumer education. The combination of the seminar rooms with the state-of-the-art teaching kitchen gives students the opportunity to combine theoretical and practical content in a targeted manner and to try out teaching and learning arrangements.
