Deutsches Hygiene-Museum Dresden
We have been cooperating with the Deutsches Hygiene-Museum since 2014. The focus is on the planning, implementation and reflection of practical projects that can be implemented with school classes at the DHMD.
In the summer semester of 2014, a project seminar on the topic of "Intercultural Primary School" was held in cooperation with the Chair of Education / Primary Education. The students had the opportunity to implement projects they had designed and developed themselves with three primary school classes in Dresden. The DHMD's special exhibition "The New Germany. Migration and Diversity" was used by the students to implement their projects. They also took part in a workshop on museum education at the DHDM and received professional and organizational support from the primary school education staff.
In the 2014/2015 and 2015/2016 winter semesters, further cooperation seminars were held with the DHDM, which focused on interdisciplinary aspects. The students developed projects in small groups that dealt with interdisciplinary topics such as "Eating and drinking together" (ethics/subject teaching) or "Movement of the body" (subject teaching/sports/maths), but always with reference to German didactic issues. In the individual projects, the focus was on a variety of ways to encourage the children to talk, write, reflect, describe, argue, draw, try things out and discover.
In addition to the practical projects, there is an intensive exchange with the DHMD on museum education topics and the current exhibitions.
