What is the lecture about?
Data shapes decisions in everyday life, science and politics and is omnipresent in the media. In order to prepare children for an increasingly data-driven world, it is important to promote their statistical literacy in a targeted manner from the very beginning. This can be achieved, for example, by working with real data sets as part of the PPDAC data analysis cycle, by learning basic data operations at an early age and by using digital tools. The lecture shows practical teaching ideas and presents empirical results that provide impulses for the promotion of data literacy in primary school mathematics lessons.
