Training courses on selected guiding ideas

New in the Saxony curriculum: Data & chance - design and implementation options as well as theoretical backgrounds

Data and chance is divided into three components: statistics, combinatorics and probability. Learners come from kindergarten with initial experience in these fields, which must be taken up and continued in elementary school.

As part of the training course, participants deal with the basic design principles of stochastics lessons in elementary school. They use these principles to design specific tasks for the new learning area of data and chance and reflect on these critically. In addition, practical examples will be presented and discussed.

Revised Saxon elementary school mathematics curriculum: Patterns, structures & functional relationships

Recognizing patterns and structures is an essential basis of understanding that learners need in order to learn successfully and sustainably in mathematics lessons. How can the search for patterns and structures be encouraged in the classroom? What levels of competence do learners need to achieve in order to obtain a solid education with regard to the guiding idea in all areas of learning?

The course explores these and other questions and offers an insight into learning environments that address this guiding idea.
