Future cooperation between FOVOG and the DenkRaum Sophienkirche
The Research Center for Comparative Religious History (FOVOG-Dresden) and the DenkRaum Sophienkirche want to work together in the future
The DenkRaum Sophienkirche is intended as a place of dialogue, remembrance and reconciliation in the centre of Dresden and commemorates the Sophienkirche and its eventful history. Built as a Franciscan monastery church, it later became a Protestant court church and, after destruction in the Second World War, was finally demolished in 1962/63. The DenkRaum Sophienkirche is maintained by the Bürgerstiftung Dresden. The Research Center for Comparative History of Religious Orders is a central institution of the TU Dresden. Various research projects on religious orders and monasteries are being conducted under its roof.
The first results of the cooperation shall be educational offers that will shed light on the regional history of the Franciscans, but also on other monasteries. One focus will be on presenting student research.
