International Medieval Congress 2024 in Leeds (01.07.2024-04.07.2024)

The International Medieval Congress (IMC) will take place in Leeds from July 1 to July 4 2024.

Marcus Handke will give a lecture entitled "Crisis of Solitude: Longings, Imaginations, and Realization Efforts of a Christian Ideal in the High Middle Ages" in  section 135 "Hermitism, Solitude, and Narratives of religious crisis in the High and Late Middle Ages" on 1 July.

Nathalie Schmidt will speak on July 2 in section 731 "Narratives of crisis and monastic communities, I: External Threats, worldly goods, and Narratives of crisis" in her lecture "Reason and Remedy: The Antonite Re-Construction of St Anthony in View of the Holy Fire" on the changing perception of St Anthony Abbas.
