Risks in the production of AI-generated proteins: Statement by Birte Platow

Against the background of an article published in Science on safety gaps in the production of AI-generated proteins, Birte Platow - Area Lead for Responsible AI at ScaDS.AI Dresden/Leipzig and PI in the PhD project Evaluation of artificial intelligence (AI) methods in protein design and their implications for responsibleresearch in biomedicine - commented on the risks for the Science Media Center Germany and provided an ethical classification.
