PhD funding for doctoral student Annabell Hellwig

Doctoral student Annabell Hellwig will receive a scholarship from 1 July 2025 for her PhD project in church history at the Institute of Protestant Theology, supervised by Prof. Dr. Stefan Michel. In her dissertation project with the (translated) working title "The conquest of communicative spaces: Friedrich Schorlemmer's peace group 'Peace '83' and the tension between the grassroots and church leaders in the GDR in the 1980s", she is investigating church peace work in the SED state from a discourse analysis perspective. The project is funded by the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Saxony. The scholarship enables in-depth academic work in an exciting field of research between theology, contemporary history and communication analysis. Our warmest congratulations!
