Transcendence in popular visual cultures of the 20th century
Christianity and religion have defunded from the churches into society in Western societies. Many areas of popular culture show and contain religious aspects without these always being immediately recognizable. The project aims to use various examples of popular culture in the 20th century to examine how transcendence is depicted there and what can be learned theologically from this for the understanding of transcendence.
