Announcement of a position as a wiss. Assistant (m/f/d) at the Chair of History of Technology and Economy
The Chair of History of Technology and Economy (Prof. Dr. Gisela Hürlimann) has a vacancy for a
research assistant Research Associate / Doctoral Candidate / PostDoc (m/f/d). Assistant / Doctoral student /PostDoc (m/f/d) (if the personal requirements are met E 13 TV-L)
for 3 years (duration of employment according to WissZeitVG) with 50 % of the regular weekly working hours and the goal of own scientific further qualification (i.e. in the field of doctoral studies). Further qualification (usually doctorate / habilitation).
Tasks:
- You will develop a research project in the field of the history of technology, economics, science, the environment, human-animal or nutritional history and carry it out during your employment; in doing so, you will participate in research debates in your field and at TU Dresden
- If you have an affinity for modern IT tools and digital humanities, you will have the best opportunities to implement these productively in teaching and research (cooperation with Dresden history institutions)
- You will teach courses in accordance with the HSDAVO (2 SWS per semester) at the Institute of History and also take on the associated student supervision
- You will be involved in the organization of events and conferences, the supervision of publications and the acquisition of research projects at the Chair
Requirements:
- You have a scient. University degree, possibly with a doctorate, preferably in history (also as a teacher) or, with a clear historical focus, in a social or cultural science subject
- You have written a very good thesis (master's, diploma or state examination thesis) or dissertation in one of the above-mentioned subject areas
- You enjoy imparting knowledge and are familiar with historical archive work, scientific research and writing processes. research and writing processes
- You like the mix of independent and team-oriented work, have good organizational skills and a high level of social competence
- You are fluent in German and writing and, in addition to a good command of English, ideally also have knowledge of another foreign language
