Studies
Regardless of whether you are studying History as a 1st or 2nd main subject in the Bachelor GKS or attend the courses as part of the Studium Generale, courses in the history of technology and economics offer you the opportunity to deepen your studies on a broad basis in the field of economics and technology.
Knowledge and technology
As systematic subjects within the field of history, the history of technology and economic history enable us to offer a wide range of courses covering a wide range of epochs - the period of the courses offered therefore extends from antiquity to the prehistory of the present. We also try to cover as wide a range of topics as possible in our teaching. Not only do we deal with "classic" topics - such as the mobilization of science and technology in various social constellations, the consideration of mobility and communication technologies or the popularization of technology in the mass media - but we also regularly try out seminars and exercises off the beaten track. In recent years, for example, there have been courses on nutrition and clothing, the history of soccer tactics and the Olympic Games, Leonardo da Vinci, the history of technological disasters, animal welfare and vegetarianism, the history of computer games and the internet, science fiction films and the mechanization of sexuality.
