Call for Participation - Blended Intensive Program (Erasmus+) Network for Digital Art Education (N-DAE)

Are you interested in digital art, media, AI, critical visual cultures or contemporary art education? Do you want to work internationally, get to know new perspectives and experiment creatively together?
Then you are cordially invited to take part in the Blended Intensive Program (BIP) "Network for Digital Art Education".
What is it about?
The BIP brings together students from the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, TU Dresden and the University of Porto to spend a week intensively exploring digitality in art and art education. Together with international teachers, artists and students, you will work open-endedly on a wide range of current topics such as
- AI & art education (e.g. collaboration with AI, image generation, simple forms of machine learning in the classroom)
- Digital media & criticism (artistic work with digital media, irritation and discomfort as a learning opportunity)
- Tools & accessibility (open source software, low-barrier digital learning environments)
- Feminist & queer perspectives (gender images in digital images, diversity and critique of norms in art lessons)
- Image cultures & rights (copyright in art lessons, sharing - changing - reusing images)
- Ethics & sustainability (fairness and prejudice in AI, conscious use of digital images and resources)
How is the program structured?
- Preparation (online):
Three public online lectures in spring 2026, in which the participating universities present themselves and their focus areas - Presence phase in Vienna (5 days):
Workshops, inputs, collaborative work, museum visits, exhibition formats, peer learning and presentations - Follow-up (online): exchange formats, publication if necessary
For whom?
- Students of art education, art history, design and architecture education or related degree programs
- Open to different study phases
- no special technical knowledge required - curiosity and openness are more important

Organizational details
- The program takes place within the framework of Erasmus+ → Funding for travel and accommodation costs is possible
