Further establishing interdisciplinary research and collaboration between different institutions is the aim of the Endowed Chair of Philosophy and History of Art.

Museums are emphasized as essential places of research and places to study original artworks. Seminars are, therefore, regularly held in various museums in Dresden – an in particular collaboration with the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden – as well as outside of Dresden and in artist’s studios.

An extensive exchange with Prof. Dr. Ursula Rao, director of the Institute of Anthropology at the Universität Leipzig, precipitated two block seminars in 2016 and 2017 centered around the Modern Era.
