Final Theses in Theoretical Philosophy
Students can write bachelor’s, master’s, and state examination theses at the Chair in all core areas of the discipline: epistemology, philosophy of language, metaphysics, logic, and philosophy of mind.
How to Proceed
As of March 2025, you will no longer be required to find your own two reviewers. You will register your thesis project using the Institute’s form, and reviewers will be assigned centrally; the person who serves as the primary reviewer will also supervise your writing process. You can find all the details and the form under “Assignment of Reviewers for Theses.”
Please register by January 15 if you wish to begin in the summer semester, or by July 15 for the winter semester.
Before Registering
It is recommended that you discuss your topic in advance during an office hour. Even if the Chair is currently vacant, theses in Theoretical Philosophy are supervised without restriction. You can find your contact persons under “Faculty and Staff.”
