Courses in Theoretical Philosophy

The Chair is responsible for providing foundational training in the core systematic areas of the discipline. Courses offered on a regular basis include the lecture “Fundamentals of Theoretical Philosophy” in the summer semester, as well as an advanced lecture in the winter semester, such as an introduction to epistemology.

In addition, introductory courses related to the philosophy of language, the philosophy of mind, and metaphysics are offered regularly. Classic topics such as free will and skepticism are also regularly covered. This is complemented by instruction in logic, consisting of a lecture and accompanying tutorials.

In the master’s program, the Chair of Theoretical Philosophy delves deeper into these areas, particularly in the modules on theoretical philosophy and on knowledge and society.
