Global Supply Chains and Multiple Crises: International conference with reception
What do the blockade of the Suez Canal by the Ever Given, the Corona pandemic and Russia's invasion of Ukraine have in common? Although they are very different events, they all highlighted the vulnerability of global supply chains. The Dresden Forum for International Politics 2023 will focus on the impacts on Saxony, Germany and other regions of the world, and will discuss possible solutions.
Many goods and raw materials are no longer available or only in limited supply, which is paralysing economic development worldwide. Food and energy prices are exploding, which endangers food security in many regions of the world. Thus, the current multiple crises challenge us to strengthen global supply chains and transform them in a sustainable way.
We would like to discuss these challenges and possible solutions with experts from all over the world at the Dresden Forum for International Politics. The one-day conference will be accompanied by an evening reception hosted by the Prime Minister of Saxony, Mr Michael Kretschmer.
