Notes on the return of written examinations and the remonstration period

The Examination Committee has decided on the following general procedure for the return of written examinations and for remonstration:
Every exam participant can inspect his/her exam after consultation with the respective examiner. For this purpose, the inspection date usually announced by the faculty is to be used, in exceptional cases an additional date agreed with the examiner. Attendance at the meeting for the respective examination is strongly recommended.
The remonstration must be submitted in writing. The aspects which, in the opinion of the remonstrator, have been assessed incorrectly must be explained. The alleged assessment errors must be named. The examination of the remonstration is limited to the objections raised. Remonstrations that do not specifically name and justify the assessment errors will be rejected as inadmissible (e.g. general criticism of the assessment as too strict; comparison with examinations of fellow students without further factual discussion, etc.). As a rule, the remonstration should be made within one month of the meeting date or after the inspection to ensure that the examiner is still available for the remonstration. A remonstration after the expiry of the appeal periods relating to the examiner's performance will be rejected as inadmissible.
