Advertisement Research assistant (m/f/d)
The Faculty of Arts, Humanities, Humanities and Social Science, Institute of Sociology, is seeking to fill the position of Chair of Methods in Empirical Social Research as of 01.10.2025.
research associateEmployee (m/f/d) (if the personal requirements are met E 13 TV-L) with 67.5% of the regular weekly working hours, as a replacement in the course of the temporary reduction in working hours for 36 months (according to § 14 para. 1 sentence 2 no. 3 TzBfG).
Tasks:
- Teaching in the field of methods of empirical social research to the extent according to HSDAVO
- Own and cooperative research in the Chair's profile area, preferably with a focus on social science methods research, measurement and computational social science
- Presentation and publication activities
- Participation in the acquisition of third-party funds
- Support of PR measures and maintenance of the Chair's website, support in the development of teaching materials
Requirements
- Above-average academic degree University degree (Master's, Diploma or comparable) in sociology, social sciences or a related subject
- Advanced knowledge of quantitative data collection methods and statistics
- very good empirical thesis with the use of quantitative methods
- very good knowledge of statistical software (R, SPSS or STATA)
- very good written and spoken German and English skills
- Ability to work in a team and organizational skills
Advantageous are:
- Knowledge of methods in the field of structural equation modeling and computational social science
- Interest in a doctorate in sociology
