Research Interests
Dr. Luise K. Müller is postdoctoral research associate at the Chair of Legal and Constitutional Studies with Interdisciplinary Relations at TU Dresden. Her current research interests include theories of human and animal rights, the concepts of justice and legitimacy, the philosophy of John Rawls and of John Locke, and the idea of equality. In her current research project, she develops a theory of basic rights based on the concept of social cooperation. She hopes that the application of such a theory is not limited to humans, and that it takes seriously the social nature of the concept of rights. Dr. Müllers position is financially supported by the Excellence Initiative of the German Federal and State Governments, through the Open Topic Postdoc Programme at TU Dresden.
Curriculum Vitae
Luise Müller studied political science and political theory at Freie Universität Berlin (B.A.) and University College London (M.A.), and wrote her dissertation on the legitimacy of international criminal law at the Berlin Graduate School for Transnational Studies and the Freie Universität Berlin (10/2012-11/2016). She was then a postdoctoral fellow at the Chair of Practical Philosophy at FU Berlin (1/2017-10/2017) and holds a postdoctoral research position at the Chair of Legal and Constitutional Studies with Interdisciplinary Relations at TU Dresden since November 2017.
