Students may select from a wide range of international study opportunities in order to gain experience abroad during their studies.
ERASMUS Programme
Within the scope of the ERASMUS programme, a student exchange programme run by the European Union, students may spend time abroad at other European universities.
The Chair of Political Theory and History of Political Thought, as part of the ERASMUS programme, is partnered with universities in Turin, Bologna, Breslau, Strasbourg and Lyon.

Exchange programme with the New School New York (USA)
Since 1995, this exchange programme has been providing students in the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Science at TU Dresden with the opportunity to study at a renowned university in the USA. Further information is available here New School for Social Research New York.
“Political Theory” summer course in Dubrovnik (Croatia)
The political theory summer course at the Inter-University Centre is a joint German-Croatian event. Since 1997, Prof. Hans Vorländer has held annual guest chair, and is one of the directors of the summer course since 2005. The summer course covers a variety of topics. These include a look at individual theoreticians, fundamental concepts in politics and political science and current political developments. The course is held in German. The MIDEM Network
The MIDEM network consists of numerous research institutions, including for example the European University Institute, the London School of Economics and the New School for Social Research. The competencies and resources gathered in this network can also be of use to experienced students, for example in the context of theses.
