Call for Applications for the Schaufler Residency@TU Dresden 2027

In April 2027, the Schaufler Lab@TU Dresden—a joint project of the TUD Dresden University of Technology and THE SCHAUFLER FOUNDATION—will enter its third funding phase (2027–2030, subject to the approval of funding). Under the overarching theme “Energy Cultures in Transition,” the project will examine how forms of energy and energy transitions shape—and are in turn shaped by—cultural practices, social values, power relations, environmental relationships, and visions of the future.

Starting in April 2027, the Schaufler Residency@TU Dresden is once again offering a six-month artist-in-residence program. International artists or collectives working in media art, conceptual art, performance, and related fields are invited to apply with innovative projects.

We are seeking dedicated international artists or collectives who:

• have a clear artistic vision,
• have experience in transdisciplinary work,
• show an interest in academic contexts and collaborative research,
• can work on-site (by arrangement), and
• can communicate very well in German or English.

This call for applications is subject to the approval of funding.
