Fellow Marie Briese gives lecture at the Joint Meeting of the European Association of Biblical Studies and the Society of Biblical Literature in Uppsala

The Joint Meeting of the European Association of Biblical Studies and the Society of Biblical Literature took place in Uppsala from June 23-27, 2025. Almost 1000 theologians from all over the world came together. Schaufler Lab@TU Dresden fellow Marie Briese gave a lecture entitled “Al-Generated Depictions of the Afterlife and Their Role in Fundamentalist-Right Wing Populist Influencing by @liebezurbibel” as part of the Research Unit “Politization of Bibles and Biblization of Politics in the Twenty-First Century”, in which she was able to show which roles ChatGPT are ascribed in fundamentalist to right-wing populist argumentation and why AI-generated depictions of the afterlife support them.
