Delegation from Queen's University Belfast visits Dresden
From 17 to 21 May 2026, the Center for International Studies (ZIS) welcomes a delegation from Queen's University Belfast . Students and lecturers are coming to Dresden as part of the ERASMUS faculty cooperation! We have prepared a varied program for our guests, offering both academic highlights and exciting cultural insights.
The program includes a guided tour of the campus, an excursion to Saxon Switzerland, a visit to the Bautzner Straße memorial and two exciting lectures. The first lecture will be given by Klaus Gründler (University of Kassel, ifo & CESifo) and will deal with the topic "Economic Voting in Electoral Precincts: Evidence from a Cartography of Germany's 400 Largest Cities". The second lecture, a guest colloquium entitled "Brexit: Ten Years on from Voting 'Leave': What has been the Impact of Brexit on the UK and the EU?", will examine the consequences of Brexit from a scientific perspective. A joint farewell dinner will conclude the visit.
Several of the program items are organized with the support of the IB Association in order to give the Northern Irish guests a comprehensive insight into student and university life in Dresden.
The ZIS is looking forward to exciting encounters and a lively intercultural exchange and cordially invites all interested parties to participate. Further information and the complete program can be found on the website.
We look forward to your active participation!
