Digitized Bachelor application procedure for the class of 2026

The Center for International Studies is very pleased to announce that the application process for the Bachelor's degree program in International Relations for the class of 2026 will take place digitally.

We are conducting a two-stage selection process to allocate the 39 study places for the degree program. The first part is divided into the online application via Selma or uni-assist and the online selection procedure in Opal. The second part consists of a selection interview.

There are two portals for the first part, depending on the country you obtained your higher education entrance qualification in: selma and uni-assist.

Application via Selma

Applicants who obtained their higher education entrance qualification in Germany usually apply via selma. After registering in the portal and submitting the application, you will receive an application number.

Application via OPAL

In the second application step, you take part in the online selection process via Opal. The OPAL platform, which is also used by students, contains a questionnaire in which applicants enter the information relevant to the selection process. This replaces the previous questionnaire. All necessary documents/evidence can be uploaded to the portal so that it is no longer necessary to send them by post.
