Prize of the Euroregion for Lisa Junge
On September 5th, the Neisse Euroregion prizes for cross-border engagement in the border triangle for the year 2024 were presented at Grabštejn Castle. In addition to the prizes for children's and youth education and civic engagement, a prize is traditionally also awarded by the Euroregion's Academic Coordination Centre (ACC) to honor young scientists.
This year, the ACC Prize was awarded to Lisa Junge, Research Associate at the IHI Chair of Business Administration, esp. Environmental Management. Lisa Junge was primarily responsible for the organization, financing and implementation of the 1st ACC Forum in autumn 2023 at the St. Marienthal International Meeting Centre. It was thanks to her and Prof. Remmer Sassen that around 100 students from six partner universities from the three neighboring countries Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic were able to come together in workshops, be accommodated and catered for, as well as around 50 scientists for an international conference.
The prize money was sponsored by Hi!Lusatia e. V., a network under the presidency of HSZG Rector Prof. Alexander Kratzsch and IHI Director Prof. Thorsten Claus.
The prizes were presented by the presidents of the Euroregion. The current president is the hejtman (chairman, president) of the Liberec district, Martin Půta, supported on the German side by the district administrator of Görlitz, Dr. Stephan Meyer, while the Polish side, which is now taking over the presidency, is represented by the city president of Jelenia Góra, Jerzy Łużniak.
We congratulate Ms Junge on this well-deserved honor!
