Responsible Management Talks with Frank Großmann, IHK: The situation is much better than companies make it out to be!
Economic challenges, social change, political tensions - responsible entrepreneurship is more important today than ever before. The Responsible Management Talks of the Chair of Business Administration, in particular Responsible Management, at IHI Zittau (TU Dresden) bring together science, practice and society.
The current edition on Monday, June 2, 2025, in cooperation with the Dresden Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK), was dedicated to the challenges and potential of the Upper Lusatia economic region. How can economic development be combined with societal responsibility in structurally weak regions? And how can responsible entrepreneurship succeed in uncertain times?
Dr. Eckhard Burkatzki, Research Associate at the Chair, opened the evening with an overview of the challenges facing the region.
Frank Großmann, Head of the Görlitz / Zittau branch of the Dresden Chamber of Industry and Commerce, explained how companies in the district of Görlitz are overcoming challenges and the pressure to transform. His conclusion: the sober figures give far more reason for hope than the gloomy picture painted by many entrepreneurs.
The role that values play in dealing with challenges and pressure situations and how corporate responsibility can contribute to strengthening the region were also discussed.
The event was moderated by Prof. Dr. Markus Scholz, Chair of Responsible Management.
