Hajo Terbrack successfully completes his doctorate
Hajo Terbrack successfully completed his doctorate on March 17, 2026 with the title "A Contribution to Energy-oriented Production Scheduling".
Dr. Terbrack defended his dissertation in front of his doctoral supervisor and first examiner Prof. Dr. Thorsten Claus, the second examiner Prof. Tristan Becker, the chairman of the examination committee Prof. Dr. Udo Buscher and the examiner Prof. Dr. Susanne Strahringer.
Hajo Terbrack conducted research as an external doctoral student at the Chair of Production Economy and Information Technology at IHI Zittau in the field of sustainable production planning and control. In a total of seven papers, the 30-year-old business economist analyzed various aspects of energy-oriented production planning and control.
Prof. Dr. Thorsten Claus emphasizes that Hajo Terbrack's cumulative dissertation makes both a scientifically sound and practically relevant contribution to the integration of energy-related target values into machine allocation planning, which is also reflected in the considerable publication success in internationally recognized journals.
The newly-qualified doctor is proud to have used his research to develop solutions that are beneficial to energy efficiency in industrial production.
