Kapteina Joins the Think Tank 30 of the Club of Rome
Dr. Benedikt D. S. Kapteina, postdoctoral fellow at the Chair of Business Management, with a focus on Responsible Management, has been appointed to the Think Tank 30 (TT30) of the Club of Rome.
The Club of Rome is a globally renowned think tank that has been shaping debates on sustainability, climate change, and social justice for decades. With landmark reports such as The Limits to Growth, it has sparked critical conversations around the world. TT30 is the Club of Rome’s network of young experts – an interdisciplinary forum that brings fresh thinking and critical perspectives into public discourse. Its mission centers on future responsibility, sustainability, and strengthening democratic structures.
Dr. Kapteina’s research explores the role of businesses in politics and society, with a current focus on how they can help strengthen democratic values. His work addresses societal challenges such as populism, disinformation, and polarization, and develops practical strategies that enable businesses to take on responsibility credibly and build lasting trust.
“Joining TT30 is both a great honor and a serious responsibility. Especially in times of overlapping crises, we need the courage to challenge established paradigms and collectively explore new paths toward a more sustainable and just society. In my research, I focus on the political responsibility of businesses. I'm excited to contribute insights from this perspective to the TT30 community – and to learn from the diverse disciplinary and personal viewpoints it brings together,” says Kapteina.
