Maria Riegler held a keynote on supply chain human rights due diligence
Corporate responsibility and human rights due diligence are receiving increased public attention due to current legislative developments and rising human rights risks at the global level.
During the annual multi-stakeholder forum on the OECD guidelines for multinational corporations, hosted by the Austrian National Contact Point of the OECD in the Austrian Federal Ministry of Labour and Economy, Maria Riegler held an invited keynote on "Supply chain responsibility: Business and human rights" together with Melanie Rainer from the Institute for Business Ethics and Sustainable Strategy at FHWien. In the keynote, Maria Riegler discussed corporate responsibility and current developments in the area of business and human rights. Melanie Rainer subsequenty spoke about the specific challenges, opportunities and recommendations for Austrian companies and Austria's economy.
In their keynote, both speakers referred to the study "Supply chain responsibility in Austria" (only available in German) which they co-authored together with Markus Scholz, Anna M. Burton and Katharina Eggenweber and which is available for download (in German) here on the Federal Ministry's website.
