Maternity protection
Pregnant or breastfeeding while studying - maternity protection also applies to students
The new, fundamentally reformed Maternity Protection Act (MuSchG) came into force on January 1, 2018. One of the main changes is that students and pupils are now also included in the scope of application.
The "Act on the Protection of Mothers at Work, in Training and at University" serves to protect the health of pregnant and breastfeeding women and their children in addition to protecting them from dismissal and discrimination during pregnancy and breastfeeding, as well as regulating financial matters.
To ensure the best possible health protection, students are requested to inform the relevant Examination Office of their pregnancy / breastfeeding period as early as possible.
