International Logistics Management

Learning Objectives

Students will acquire knowledge of facts, concepts, and processes related to international logistics management. They will be able to plan, manage, and monitor international logistics processes effectively and efficiently. Students will develop collaboration skills for working with external partners in international supplier management.

Course Content

a) Management frameworks for international value-added networks (strategy development, configuration, coordination, fit)

b) External environments of international value creation networks (macroenvironment, microenvironment) and associated political, economic, geographic, and cultural differences

c) Approaches to international procurement logistics, particularly supplier management and successful negotiation in the context of international value chains

d) Approaches to production logistics at the site level, such as lean management methods

e) Approaches to the planning, management, and control of combined, inter- and cross-company, cross-border transportation.
