Successful participation of our employees in this year's NAMA 2025
Our Chair of Business Administration esp. Environmental Management participated in the NAMA 2025 conference again this year. NAMA is the annual conference of the Scientific Commission for Sustainability Management (WK NAMA) within the Association of University Professors of Business Administration e.V. (VHB) and serves as a platform for professional exchange among researchers in the field of sustainability and management. At the conference, current research projects are presented and discussed in depth. This year, the conference took place on September 25-26 at the campus of Chemnitz University of Technology in the European Capital of Culture.
Olivia Staub presented on the influences of leadership styles on employee well-being. Vera Braun, Sarah Bärsch, and Namchul Shin, our visiting scholar from Pace University in New York, presented their research on biodiversity reporting in the coal mining industry. Ronja Paleit presented her work on quality criteria in sustainability reporting. Stefanie Kast, a colleague from the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, and Albert Baena Regel presented their research on political ecology for regeneration and rethinking corporate values inspired by Latin American perspectives. Albert also presented his topic on social life cycle analysis for small-scale mining in Ecuador and overcoming ecological challenges and organized crime. Remmer Sassen also led the session on integrated assessment. Important feedback and methodological aspects were openly discussed with the session participants.
As usual, the conference provided an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas on scientific issues, both during the sessions and breaks and at the evening event at LUXOR Chemnitz. This supportive, constructively critical atmosphere forms the basis for networking among researchers in the field of sustainability management in the VHB's WK NAMA.
Particularly impressive were the candid and authentic insights provided by Lutz Am Ende (Hassia Mineralquellen GmbH & Co. KG), who described the company's approach to practical sustainability management.
We would like to thank the organizers of this year's NAMA, especially Prof. Marlen Gabriele Arnold and Prof. Mathias Wichmann, for putting together the program highlights and for their excellent hospitality. We look forward to NAMA 2026 in Düsseldorf.
