Environmental Communication and Responsibility
Module Description
Qualification Goals:
The students know the basics of environmental communication as a subarea of corporate reporting, as well as the communication obligations of companies and public institutions in the context of corporate responsibility. They know the marketing aspects of environmental and eco-labels. The students are able to apply the concept of sustainability reporting and critically evaluate report content using qualitative methods.
Contents:
- Different forms of environmental communication and their backgrounds
- Communication obligations of companies and public institutions
- Operational environmental impacts in different sectors and their responsibilities
- Environmental management systems, reporting standards, and their application
- Environmental and eco-labels as communication and marketing instruments
- Case studies, e.g. from the DNK database
- Methods of systematic literature research and content analysis
