Areas of Focus and Doctoral Studies

The Chair conducts research in the following areas. In these areas, doctoral thesis topics receive academic guidance and experimental support.

• Design, calculation, and modeling of electrical machines
• Multimegawatt electrical machines
• Condition monitoring, digital twin
• Electric machines with high power density, e.g., for electrified flight
• Control and regulation of drive systems

Those interested in pursuing a doctoral thesis may do so as external candidates, doctoral students with a scholarship, third-party-funded employees, or Research Associates in tenured positions.

The expected duration of the doctoral program should generally be between 3 and 5 years.
