Successful participation in DAGA 2020
Despite COVID-19, various members of the chair have succeeded in presenting their research in DAGA 2020. We would like to highlight two articles, whose main authors are Mr. Dipl.-Ing. Tom Wühle and Mr. Dipl.-Ing. Andres Ramos.
- Realization of a sound projector with improved radiation behaviour in the high frequency range
By Tom Wühle, Friedrich Beyer, Lukas Bulla, Sebastian Merchel, M. Ercan Altinsoy
The study deals with an approach based on the use of sound barriers and the partially indirect placement of loudspeakers on the sound projector. The realization of a corresponding sound projector is presented. Finally, its effectiveness is evaluated with regard to physical and psychoacoustic aspects.
- Characterization of plain sound absorbers based on natural fleece structures
By Andrés E. Ramos Ruiz, Mila Klochkova-Schiefer, Tim Natzschka, Sebastian Merchel, Elke Haase, Sybille Krzywinski, Ercan Altinsoy
In order to reduce noise in office environments specialized acoustic elements must be used. Acoustical textiles in conjunction with sound reflective structures are commonly used in the textile industry. A cheaper and sustainable solution could be achieved using composite materials made from natural fleece fibers. Using these structures in combination with compressed high-density fleece plates it is possible to build sound absorption systems with a higher bandwidth.
