Japan Advanced Institute of Sience and Technology
In 2008/09, a cooperation developed between the then Chair of Systems Theory and Speech Technology and the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST) in Nomi (Ishikawa Prefecture). It started with the co-supervision of a dissertation by Prof. Masashi Unoki, which was very successful and generated the wish for a closer cooperation between our two institutions. Between JAIST and our faculty, the two agreements were signed on 8. 9. 2009 (JAIST) and 5. 10. 2009 (TUD) respectively:
- Agreement on Academic Exchange and
- Agreement on Student Exchange.
These were supplemented in 2014 by the
- Agreement on Research Collaboration and Research Co-Supervision Program.
JAIST is a graduate university, so it does not conduct undergraduate studies. It offers excellent conditions for academic qualification. It consists of several "Schools", our partner being the School of Information Science.
So far, four doctoral students of the IAS were able to take advantage of the opportunity to spend several months doing research at JAIST.
