Dr. Katrin Philipp wins the Bertha Benz Price 2020!

Für ihre Dissertation „Investigation of aberration correction and axial scanning in microscopy employing adaptive lenses“ zeichnet die Daimler und Benz Stiftung Frau Dr.-Ing. Katrin Philipp mit dem Bertha-Benz-Preis 2020 aus. Der Ingenieurin gelang es, ein digitales Lasermikroskop zu entwickeln, das insbesondere bei der Untersuchung tieferliegender Gewebeschichten – etwa bei Veränderungen in der Schilddrüse – völlig neuartige Diagnosemöglichkeiten eröffnet.

IEEE Photonics Award for Prof. Czarske

The IEEE Photonics Society has honored Chair Professor and Director of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Dresden University of Technology Juergen Czarske with the 2020 Laser Instrumentation Award. Czarske earned the award, which is the first the society has presented, for the invention and commercialization of novel computational laser metrology for paradigm-changing imaging and sensing in technical processes, biomedicine, and fiber-optical communication.
