12th Protection and Control Technology FNN/ETG Tutorial in Berlin

On June 21 and 22 2022, the 12th Protection and Control Technology FNN/ETG Tutorial took place in Berlin. With the support of the VDE Dresden e.V. as well as the Energieforschungsinstitut Dresden e.V. (efi e.V.) the participation of nine students of the TU Dresden and the HTW Dresden could be made possible.

Furthermore, scientific researcher from the working group Protection and Control Technology contributed to the tutorial with four posters. Topics and results from current research projects were presented and discussed:

1. Modeling of Secondary Arcs (Carlo Liebermann, Moritz Meinck, Peter Schegner, Georg Achleitner, Karsten Wenzlaff)

2. Challenges and Protection Concepts for Grids with a High Share of Power Electronic Feeders (Yinan Zhang, Ricardo Herrmann, Carlo Liebermann, Peter Schegner)

3. Challenges for the Protection of Electrolysis Plants (Michael Bruhns, Carlo Liebermann, Peter Schegner)

4. Transmission Lines Protection Using Digital Morphologic Filters and Spectral Energy of Fault-generated High-Frequency Transient Signals (Juan Carlos Quispe, Carlo Liebermann, Peter Schegner)

In the Best Poster Award, the paper on modeling of secondary arcs was awarded second place for the best academic poster.
